This site is for comments that do not fit in one of the six primary subjects (threads) which have always characterized this weblog. I realize that many do not approve of my methods, but I regard them as vastly superior to those weblogs which constantly bury earlier threads into what amounts to oblivion. This new Post also invites vitriol and insult just as all the others always have. The comments will remain even though the commenter may force me to banish him. Everyone knows the rules here.

I intend to do some house cleaning and will delete comments that did not belong in one of the six threads.

I hope everyone understands. Thank you for your patience.

Will someone please instruct me on how to open a raw egg with one hand. I have never managed that feat.

2. vmartin1 - January 1, 2009

It depends from what side you start John. There was a quarrell in Gulliver’s Travells. Two nation waged war against each other to solve the dillema.

I hit on interesting neodarwinian blog where a neodarwinist from rd.net used picture “Academia” by Rafael to support reason. Would you belive it? I’ve just commented it on the place:

http://sensuouscurmudgeon.wordpress.com/2008/12/31/ben-franklin-compound-interest-and-evolution/#comment-2035

3. John A. Davison - January 1, 2009

I was serious Martin. By the way I am trying to join you at The Sensuous Curmudgeon but my message has not yet appeared.

4. John A. Davison - January 1, 2009

I have just been solicited by Google Adsense. Should I accept their services? One reason I hesitate is because they offered me a very insulting password which I will not divulge. Please advise.

5. vmartin1 - January 2, 2009

Thank you John for your support. The blog is not worth contributing. It belongs to some 3th-class uneducated neodarwinian zealot. I wish there was some “One blog a day” forum. It was a great fun with Myers’ darwinists there some times ago.

6. John A. Davison - January 2, 2009

The unifyng feature of all these cesspools is the anonymity of their heads and participants. If someone knows the identity of the Sensuous Curmudgeon please let me know so I can broadcast it far and wide. That goes for any other cowardly, low life, snotty blogczar and his equally cowardly followers. Anonymity is without question the most degenerate feature of internet communication. It should never have been allowed. Imagine a scientific literature (or any other kind of literature) with unkown authors. It is one more manifestation of what Judge Robert Bork described in his book “Slouching Towards Gommorah.” We have become a civilization of intellectual, moral and ethical TRASH. Our founding fathers are rolling in their graves.

I have often wondered what really happened to “One Blog a Day.” It disappeared without a trace that it ever existed.. I suspect Myers had a hand in it as Martin and I really did a number on him and he never opened his slimy mouth while it was going on. Don’t ever underestimate the influence that trash like Myers, Hitchens and Dawkins have in internet politics and policies. I don’t trust Google for a millisecond to be an objective venue about anything. I believe it is in the pocket of the atheist Darwinian ruling establishment. Isn’t just about every aspect of our society? They want me to run their ads as they offer me an obscene pass word. No thanks Google.

We are a sick and dying civilization, hell bent on our own destruction. The only question is whether our demise will be due to our abuse of Mother Nature or to the decay of our moral, ethical and creative responsibilites.

I recommend my essay “The Age of Denial.”

Isn’t that both interesting and revealing? Needless to say, I will decline their services.

You will find, if you Google “John A. Davison evolution,” that nearly all references are derogatory.

I hope you are listening Google!

You are in the tank with the Darwinian atheists!

I love it so!

8. vmartin1 - January 3, 2009

John, we are both banned at funny “the Sensuous Curmudgeon” blog. The poor darwinist unfortunatelly blocked the whole discussion and no one can post there.

9. John A. Davison - January 3, 2009

Martin

That figures. Sensuous Curmudgeon is just another cowardly blowhard, ashamed to reveal his identity and so are most of his flock.

10. vmartin1 - January 3, 2009

John, did you notice that Carl Zimmer – who “moderated” us if I remeber correctly – runs a blog on the Discover magazine? I don’t know what happened but Carl Zimmer started to produce his “articles” almost with the same frequency as doctor Myers does. Perhaps it is some “mission” these neodarwinians feels that drive them to produce their empty articles like automata.

http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/loom/

11. John A. Davison - January 3, 2009

Yes I do know that. Zimmer is a journalist, not a scientist. Neither are Myers and Dawkins. They are living proof that atheism is a congenital condition. Political liberalism, atheism and Darwinism are inseparable as near as I can determine. I hesitate to claim that they are hereditary because there is no proof at present that they are. I doubt that there is a “God gene.” It isn’t as simple as that. The studies on monozygotic twins indicate that identical individuals, sharing a common placenta, will, even after long separation, share common views. It is obvious to anyone familiar wth the recent scientific lieterature. The data are self evident. It may be that some event during the mother’s pregnancy produced this syndrome. That is why I prefer the term “congenital” to “hereditary.” For all I know, there may have been some intervention by a malevolent God. In other words atheism, with all its associations may be a form of “Demonic Possession” in which case exorcism might be in order.

I know this doesn’t sound right but I firmly believe we are all victims in a determined sequence. Atheist, Darwinian, ultra-liberal extremists can’t help it and neither can Fundamentalist religious fanatics. They are both equally dangerous if you ask me, but nobody is asking. Free Will is a monumental joke.

“Everything is determined…by forces over which we have no control.”
Albert Einstein

I recommend “Born That Way” by William Wright.

12. 1dublinevans - January 3, 2009

Hi John and Martin, I think Eric Hoffer said it best when he was quoted as saying “You can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the means he uses to frighten you.”
It’s funny to me how they can’t debate you one on one they have to get every vermin from the basement to insult and make crude remarks.

Rebellion against tyrants is obedience to God.
Benjamin Franklin

13. John A. Davison - January 3, 2009

I don’t get frightened and I don’t think Martin does either. It is we that do the frightening. Why else do you suppose they must banish us from their mindless proceedings? I love terrorizing TRASH.

14. John A. Davison - January 5, 2009

The most difficult thing for every human to accept is the realization that he is not free. He is predestined to be what he is and there is absolutely nothing that can be done about it. Intellectual losers like Myers, Hitchens and Dawkins are totally self deluded into firmly believing that their world view is the only valid one. They are sincere and so are all their thousands of followers. That is what makes it such a hopeless venture to try to communicate with them. Accordingly, Free Will is a myth.

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

That does not mean that it is wrong.

“Our actions should be based on the ever-present awareness that human beings in their thinking, feeling, and acting ARE NOT FREE but are just as causally bound as the stars in their motion.”
Albert Einstein, Statement to the Spinoza Society of America, September 22, 1932 when I was four years old. My quite unecessary emphasis.

15. vmartin1 - January 9, 2009

Someone reopened my thread about descent of testicles on richarddawkins.net. I quoted one of “neodarwinian fathers” who dismissed Adolf Portman criticism of it. Read my answer if you like. I ridiculed neodarwinian defence:

http://richarddawkins.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=40826&p=1647913#p1647913

There is a point I cannot agree with John preliminary. I think that Dawkins cannot speak any foreign language. I asked the question repeatedly on the thread “Does Dawkins have a second language?”.
No answer yet.

16. vmartin1 - January 9, 2009

Unfortunately Alan Fox from drunken neodarwinian AtBC forum has appeared immediately. There is no one to delete his nonsensical beer opinions.

17. 1skasasparadigm - January 9, 2009

Hey Professor/Martin have either of you read any of Georgy S. Levit and Uwe Hoßfeld papers?

18. 1skasasparadigm - January 9, 2009

I just found them on the web, a paper titled “Alternative evolutionary theories: A historical survey “

19. vmartin1 - January 9, 2009

First I thought to send this to Zimmer’s blog. But its place is here:

I hit upon a great extraordinary American thinker, Charles Peirce. He wrote about Darwin:

“The followers of Herbert Spencer, for example, cannot comprehend why scientific men place Darwin so infinitely above Spencer, since the theories of the latter are so much grander and more comprehensive. They cannot understand that it is not the sublimity of Darwin’s theories which makes him admired by men of science, but that it is rather his minute, systematic, extensive, and strict scientific researches which have given his theories a more favorable reception–theories which in themselves would barely command scientific respect. And this misunderstanding belongs to all those metaphysicians who fancy themselves men of science on account of their metaphysics.”

Charles Peirce: Early Nominalism and Realism.

http://www.iupui.edu/~peirce/writings/v2/w2/w2_31/v2_31.htm

20. vmartin1 - January 9, 2009

Hi 1skasasparadigm.

Send a link. Untill now I haven’t read -regarding evolution- better work than John’s Manifesto.

21. John A. Davison - January 9, 2009

Thanks folks but I think for the time being we should concentrate on Zimmer’s Loom blog to see if we can squeeze a response out of him. I am betting we can’t unless it is a deletion.

22. vmartin1 - January 9, 2009

Hi 1skasasparadigm.

I’ve read Levit in fact. He wrote about pre-war German biologists. I read his papers in English and German. Very good papers. I recommend everyone.

23. vmartin1 - January 9, 2009

John, old problem is the poor AtBCist Alan Fox. He is polluting the discussion there with his nonsensical beer-drunken posts. I think he is on-line on your blog following our links.

24. John A. Davison - January 9, 2009

Ignore Fox is my recommendation. Don’t get abusive or Zimmer will be justified in closing the threads.

Fox follows me around like a dog. He always has. He is a one man “goon squad” for Dawkins, Elsberry and Myers.

I love it so!

25. vmartin1 - January 9, 2009

I agree John. What do you say about Levit’s analysis 1skasasparadigm wrote about? . Levit wrote also about Schindewold these words:

“Anticipating the later concepts of Beurlen and Schindewolf,
Hennig draws an analogy between ontogenetic cycles and phylogeny, and claims that the various branches of the phylogeny manifest the same dynamics as can be observed in ontogeny: rapid evolution in the stage of juvenile plasticity, followed by the stage of stable
and moderate evolution and ultimately the phase of stagnation or even degradation (senile variability). A new type can appear as a result of saltation [Hennig, 1922, p. 11], although in the later works (Hennig, 1932) Hennig was more cautious with respect to saltational evolution.”

http://www.evolutionsbiologen.de/levit_olsson_ortho.pdf

I am going to introduce a new thread at richarddawkins.net about Beurlen saltational concept of snails. Maybe darwinists have an explanation – but might be they have put the phenomena under the carpet as usually.

http://richarddawkins.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=68663

26. 1skasasparadigm - January 9, 2009

Thanks Martin,
I will continue reading his papers. What really is funny to me Martin is how these Darwinian’s can’t fight the Professor or you one on one always in groups. If they were really so grounded why won’t they just debate one on one. Also Prof. Davison what is Alan Foxes problem? He needs to get a life he’s like a groupie or a stalker. Also Martin you gave a link to Dr. Troll’s book in German I can’t find it can you repost?

27. vmartin1 - January 10, 2009

1skasasparadigm:
I borrowed Troll’s textbooks from Uni library some times ago. There is probably no chance to find something from him on inet. Anyway I recommend you archive.org.
Look at Eimer’s work:

http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=eimer%20theodor

They started copying also pre-war German biological and scientific magazimes where some inetresting thinks can be found if you have enough time (Naturwissenschaftliche Wochenschrift etc..)

28. John A. Davison - January 10, 2009

I say keep after the discussions at the Loom. That is what is important right now.

29. vmartin1 - January 10, 2009

Carl Zimmer started producing his articles like P.Z.Myers. Do they compete how many neodarwinian blog-entries they are able deliver over 24 hours? I commented the latest one here:

http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/loom/2009/01/10/blogs-resurgent/#comment-13696

I think it is a matter of hours, mostly days before I am banned.

30. John A. Davison - January 10, 2009

If he bans you we will make sure the world knows about it. That is all we can do.

31. vmartin1 - January 10, 2009

Darwinists have appeared there like mushrooms after rain.

32. John A. Davison - January 16, 2009

http://www.uncommondescent.com/intelligent-design/life-on-mars-id-and-a-prediction/#comments

I see DaveScot/David Springer is favoring a biological source for the methane being detected on Mars. I very much doubt if that is the case. There is not a shred of evidence that life exists now or ever existed anywhere else except on this planet. If life developed and evolved elsewhere, the universe would be crawling with civilizations, some of which would be far more advanced than ours. The evidence for such civilizations would be rampant. It does not exist.

Like it or not, all real evidence indicates that the earth is in fact the center and source of all life.

“It is undesirable to believe a proposition when there is no ground whatsoever for believing it to be true.”
Bertrand Russell

So much for panspermia and with it the notion that it is intrinsic in the nature of matter to become transformed through natural processes into an evolving entity. I don’t believe that for a millisecond. I realize that makes me a Creationist, a mantle I am happy to wear. I will shed it when I have to and not before.

Montaigne is one of my favorite philosophers but I take exception to one of his aphorisms -

“Man is certainly stark mad; he cannot make a worm, and yet he will be making gods by dozens.”

“Man makes gods because he cannot make a worm.”
John A. Davison

“Any system that purports to account for evolution must invoke a mechanism not mutational and aleatory.”

33. 1skasasparadigm - January 16, 2009

Hey Prof.
A interesting story I found,Have you been following esa space science? It claims the following

1.This ground-breaking discovery of a new extra-solar planet, or ‘exoplanet’, has been made by scientists searching for Earth-like planets that are capable of supporting life.
2.This is a very important discovery. It is the first planet which is likely to be ‘rocky’, or similar to the composition of Earth, Venus and Mars, as opposed to gas giants of the Jupiter type. Planets of the terrestrial type are of course the ‘holy grail’ for those who search for life in the Universe.
3.Darwin will be a flotilla of four free-flying spacecraft that will search for such Earth-like planets around other stars and analyze their atmospheres for the chemical signature of life.

now my question is how they could make all these observations if they we are not even close enough to come close to the planet. As I am told all they have is the planets orbital field?

http://www.esa.int/esaSC/SEMDJ3NZCIE_index_0.html

34. John A. Davison - January 16, 2009

Read my comment #32. I am not a fan of extra-terrestrial life. I’ll accept it when it is demonstrated.

35. vmartin1 - January 17, 2009

There has appeared message 102 at PZ.Myers forum, article “The Amputee Challenge” :

“Of course there are cases when an animal cut into two pieces regenerates both parts – the head including (some molluscs). But to know this you should have read also something else than neodarwinian drivel here.

Those who believe in neodarwinian myth are mislead. But such cases happens – also Kepler and Newton were mislead by astrology. They thought that planents and stars govern events on the Earth. Some scientists today are mislead by neodarwinism. They think that “random mutation” and “natural selection” governs evolution. They can be forgiven. Another case is Myers himself. He releases deliberately his nonsensical neodarwinian articles every two hours unless he sleeps.”

What do you think, how the author of those lines get into Pharyngula?
Did he used some proxy like
http://hideme.me/ or http://www.teamvampire.net/ ?

The only think I can say is that P.Z.Myers uses some filters (he is also a brave programmer you know) and using the name of professor Davison means that the message will be intercepted.

36. John A. Davison - January 17, 2009

Martin

That is what I like to see. Keep it up. There are some other critics there at Pharyngula as well.

The Darwinian era is in its dying phases but it doesn’t hurt to give it a little extra nudge. It is fitting that the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin will probably be the last birthday that will ever be dedicated to that Victorian lightweight. I say dig him up and get him the hell out of Westminster Abbey. The man wrote not a word that related to the title of his book, not a word!

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

Not any longer it isn’t!

I am not going to use a proxy to comment on Pharyngula or on any other forum from which I am banished. I want the record to show that the TRASH are afraid of me and my sources. Not only will they not let me speak on their turf, they won’t come here where they are all welcome to speak on my turf.That is the epitome of insecurity and intellectual cowardice.

We are engaged in the most important intellectual war in the history of science and there is no doubt in my mind as to who the winners already are and always were. They are those few who realized that chance never had anything to do with a planned, guided, and now finished organic evolution. Speaking of war -

“Never in the field of human conflict was so little owed by so many to so many.”
after Winston Churchill

War, God help me, I love it so!
George S. Patton

So do I George.

It doesn’t get any better than this.

37. Anonymous Benefactor - January 17, 2009

DaveScot’s latest thread is pseudo-science. NASA doesn’t know whether its geological or biological. There are very good reasons to suspect its geological rather then biological, I don’t think I have to re-iterate those reasons since they are all over the internet.

If DaveScot qualifies methane as “Life on Mars” with no hard-evidence then he should just join pharyngula or atbc since they all make wonderful suspicions and speculations with little to back it up.

Yes, it is entirely possible the detected methane is biological in origin, but until we can say whether it is or isn’t there is simply no need to make titles such as these (yet):

“Life on Mars, ID, and a prediction”

We will just have to wait until 2011 to find out. I’m going to make a prediction, I predict John A. Davison’s prediction is correct.

P.S: I’ll get your essays up this weekend John.

38. John A. Davison - January 17, 2009

Thanks.

I lost my computer and with it your email address. If you would email me something I could get it back.

DaveScot has become a Darwinian. He loves being right you know.

Skasasparadigm

Thanks for getting in that terminal lick above.. Now, if you can, try to insert a link to my message #36 on The Loom, After The Bar Closes, Pharyngula, richarddawkins.net forum. and anywhere else where you are not yet banished. That goes for all the rest of my “tens of thousands” of rabid fans. Use every means at your disposal. This is WAR!

It doesn’t get any better than this.

I love it so!

40. vmartin1 - January 17, 2009

Post 36 appeared as post 24 on Myers blog, article “Inaugural Freak Show – The Daily Beast.”, 3:58 pm.
Comment 26 gives clue to this blog.

41. John A. Davison - January 17, 2009

Thank you Martin.

Good show! Now the question is how long will it last before PeeZee deletes it. I notice more and more comments are critical of Myers’ brand of pseudo-science. That is a good sign.

See what you can do at After The Bar Closes and richarddawkins.net forum.

You are awsome Martin!

Here is what I predict will happen. Pee Zee will frantically introduce new threads until that one disappears off the bottom of the page. Then sometime later he will delete the whole thread. He has done it before and he will do it again.

I see I am wrong again. Myers has honored us by deleting my message, proving that he is a spineless coward, helpless to defend the biggest hoax in the history of science.

It doen’t get any better than this.

Set them up in the other alley. We are bowling a perfect game!

Who is next to expose himself as TRASH?

I love it so!

42. John A. Davison - January 18, 2009

Myers not only deleted the message that Martin was able to transmit; he deleted all signs that either Martin (everyone) or I had ever been there! What better proof could one want that he is terrified of us and our sources? Nothing has changed in 150 years. Critics of the Darwinian hoax are still not allowed to exist.

It doesn’t get any better than this.

You are a gutless, spineless coward Myers and you just proved it beyond any doubt.

By the way Myers, you missed a couple, #45 by Matt Heath “JAD’s here. Huzzah.” and #68 by Mike Haubrich “F****n JAD never gives up does he?”

Now like a good little Darwimp you delete those too. Do as your told.

I love it so!

44. John Darius - January 27, 2009

Greetings, Professor Davison.

45. John A. Davison - January 31, 2009

I see that President Oama has decided to complain about Rush Limbaugh. Apparently he has not learned the fundamentals about political dialogue. You never mention your adversary by name.

Nancy Pelosi, the Wicked Witch of the West, is now doing her level best to eliminate the fairness doctrine obviously also directed at Limbaugh. Do you know why the liberals hate talk radio? I will tell you why. They hate it because there is no liberal talk radio, that is why. The reason there is no liberal talk radio is because liberals have no principles to put forth. Unlike conservatives, liberals don’t believe in anything. That is why they are also known as relativists. Darwinians, who are 98% liberal, don’t believe in anything either. That is why they worship chance and randomness. Conservative Darwinians are as scarce as hen’s teeth and always have been. I am convinced that Darwinian atheism and political liberalism are pleiotropic effects of the same congenital condition. It explains why it is impossible to reason with such creatures, just as it is equally impossible to reason with religious fanatics. Don’t take my word for it.

“Then there are the fanatical atheists whose intolerance is the same as that of the religious fanatics, and it springs from the same source….They are creatures who can’t hear the music of the spheres.”
Albert Einstein

46. John A. Davison - February 1, 2009

If Obama’s “stimulus packages” are implemented they will plunge us into a Depression. The Republicans and enlightened Democrats must not let this happen. I see that many economists have said the same thing. Obama will ignore their advice because he has only one goal which is to convert the USA to the USSA. The present is a moment of truth for the future of this nation.

Let us pray.

47. John A. Davison - February 1, 2009

Note that I have changed the name of this post from “Miscellany” to “Miscellany and politics” The politics can be biological, national or international. Please present your political opinions and responses to mine on this post.

48. John A. Davison - February 1, 2009

http://www.theotherrussia.org/

I recommend this weblog. Putin is becoming more and more like Stalin. Pay special attention to the polls on the introductory page.

49. John A. Davison - February 4, 2009

Obama’s “stimulus package” is becoming more and more unacceptable to the American electorate. It is obviously nothing but an attempt to socialize every aspect of our economy. His campaign promises are a joke. The man is left of Lenin.

50. vmartin1 - February 7, 2009

Unfortunatelly there is no access to rd.net for non-participants. There is an
ongoing discussion about Papilio Dardanus mimicry (incited by “Robert Broom” post) . I’ve presented many arguments that natural selection has nothing to do with it. Neodarwinists haven’t moved forward since Fisher proposed his genetic modifiers to save “gradualism”.
His theory was refuted – in my opinion pretty convincing – by Richard Goldschmidt in his “Mimetic polymorphism, a controversial chapter of Darwinism” (1945).
I reccomend every supporter of saltationism to read the work. Neodarwinists now use their newspeak in the case: “initial mutation with big effect on phenotype” is their nowadays explanation of mimicry – which is nothing else as Punnet’s saltus. It seems to me that modern research regarding Papilio Dardanus vindicate Punnett and Goldschmidt.

51. John A. Davison - February 7, 2009

Thank you Martin for being a “voice in the wilderness” at richarddawkins.net forum. Unfortunately, the Darwinians are stone deaf to what Einstein called the “music of the spheres.” They are to be pitied and perhaps even forgiven. There is nothing that can be done for them. They are “prescribed,” born to lose losers!

In the words of Christ – “Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.”

I love it so!

52. John A. Davison - February 7, 2009

I am sure B. Hussein Obama is very unhappy at the resistance his “stimulus package” is receiving from the American electorate and the more rational members of Congress. His approval rating is already plummeting. He is a bully, a spoiled brat, throwing a tantrum because his goals are being thwarted. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see him veto a bill which fails to satisfy his purpose which is to convert the USA to the USSA. We will soon see. Obama is the most dangerous, indeed the only truly dangerous President that we have ever elected.

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

Not any longer it isn’t!

53. John A. Davison - February 9, 2009

The next few days are critical. If Obama’s “stimulus package” is approved and passed in its present form you can kiss this democracy goodbye. It is nothing but a naked attempt to socialize every aspect of our economy. He is desperate to get it done because without it he is finished. He is an intolerant, ideologically driven bully. Write your representatives in Congress. That is all one can do.

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

Not any longer it isn’t!

54. John A. Davison - February 12, 2009

B. Hussein Obama is very cleverly letting Pelosi and Reid make a mess of the stimulus package. That way he thinks he won’t take the blame for what he has always sought, the destruction of our democratic form of government. That won’t work. As Obama has reminded us with Harry Truman’s word’s –

“The buck stops here.”

in the Oval Office.

I predict that with the pathetic way his administration is performing, the Republicans will regain control of both the House and the Senate in the next election cycle.

For the first time in our little more than 200 years as a democracy we have elected a President whose only goal is now and always was to destroy that democracy by taking all power away from the people and concentrating it in a socialist state, the United Socialist States of America.

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

Not any longer it isn’t!

I refer all to Jerome Corsi’s “The Obama Nation” on the side bar under important books.

55. vmartin1 - February 20, 2009

Friedrich Nietzsche commenting Darwin – or Anti-Darwin:

:Anti-Darwin. — As for the famous “struggle for existence,” so far it seems to me to be asserted rather than proved. It occurs, but as an exception; the total appearance of life is not the extremity, not starvation, but rather riches, profusion, even absurd squandering — and where there is struggle, it is a struggle for power. One should not mistake Malthus for nature.
Assuming, however, that there is such a struggle for existence — and, indeed, it occurs — its result is unfortunately the opposite of what Darwin’s school desires, and of what one might perhaps desire with them — namely, in favor of the strong, the privileged, the fortunate exceptions. The species do not grow in perfection: the weak prevail over the strong again and again, for they are the great majority — and they are also more intelligent. Darwin forgot the spirit (that is English!); the weak have more spirit. One must need spirit to acquire spirit; one loses it when one no longer needs it. Whoever has strength dispenses with the spirit (“Let it go!” they think in Germany today; “the Reich must still remain to us”). It will be noted that by “spirit” I mean care, patience, cunning, simulation, great self-control, and everything that is mimicry (the latter includes a great deal of so-called virtue). ”

Friedrich Nietzsche commenting Darwin – or – anti-Darwin:

Russia is a time bomb. Putin must go. Medvedev has the constitutional authority to remove him as Prime Minister but of course will not do so unless his own position is critically threatened. Judging from the political climate in Russia, that is not inconceivable. I have great respect for Russian culture and science. It is sad that such a wonderful country has traditionally been the victim of ethical tyranny and corruption. It reminds me a lot of Chicago. The C in Chicago stands for Corruption

http://www.gizmag.com/electric-garbage-truck-is-powered-by-garbage/10915/

How is this for green? A garbage truck powered by garbage!

I suggest an improvement. Instead of burning the garbage, thereby contributing to atmospheric pollution, Why not digest it anaerobically to produce methane to power the electrical generator. Then burn the residue or, better yet, use it for garden mulch. Burning garbage is a bad idea. Burning anything is a bad idea these days, but methane (natural gas) burns a lot cleaner than garbage.

I love it so!

Still B. Hussein Obama refuses to prove his eligibility. There is something rotten in the United States of America, soon to become the United Socialist States of America.

I can understand why the Supreme Court is terrified at the prospect that Obama is an imposter. It is their failure to try the several cases that proves their cowardice. Apparently the Constitution is no longer the law of the land. It hasn’t been for some time now. We are already a weakened nation and Obama, with the aid of both Houses of Congress, is revelling in it. The man is an arrogant, egomaniacal imposter with one goal in mind: to destroy this nation which he has always hated as have his most recent primary mentors, Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers. Everything he is now promoting has that single end in mind.

61. John A. Davison - February 24, 2009

I can’t believe Obama’s arrogance. He has been in power little over one month and has the gall to address a joint session of the Congress. I hope they boo him out of the House. They won’t of course but the time will come when they will. He is “prescrbed” ethical TRASH, a “Born That Way” loser.

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

Not any longer it isn’t!

62. John A. Davison - February 25, 2009

The high point of B. Hussein Obama’s “performance” came early with -

“It is not because I believe in big government because I don’t.”

That is known as the “Big Lie” technique.

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

This guy is the most dangerous person ever to occupy the Oval Office. He even has the Supreme Court in his pocket.

Bobby Jindal’s “rebuttal” was a disaster. I don’t think there is living soul in Washington or a sitting Governor that has the guts to expose this man for what he is, a flaming, left of Lenin, Communist. It will be interesting to see how Alan Keyes responds to Obama’s premature debut before the joint Houses of Congress.They should have tapped him for the “rebuttal.”

Welcome to the USSA, The United Socialist States of America.

See messages #42, #44 on Pharyngula, item “On NPR’s ‘This I Believe’”.
Doctor Myers must be sleeping to allow on his blog such blasphemy regarding “natural selection”.

64. John A. Davison - February 26, 2009

Thank you “Bernoulli.” I see you are still able to “penetrate” Myers’ security.” Isn’t it revealing that he has to have “security,” that he can’t deal at all with any deviation from his own bigotry? The Dawkins sickofans have the same attitude. That is living proof that they are finished.

“A doctrine which is unable to maintain itself in clear light, but only in the dark, will of necessity lose its effect on mankind with incalculable harm to human progress.”
Albert Einstein

The perfect description of the atheist, aimless, purposeless, Darwinian fairy tale!

There is one problem with your message about not having a fish ancestor. It is perfectly possible that Man DID have an ancient fish for an ancestor. I have not given up the notion of reproductive continuity during evolution and I never will. To do so requires special creation which I am not prepared to accept. It is within the province of the Prescribed Evolutionary Hypothesis (PEH) and the Universal Genome Hypothesis (UGH) that ALL the information for Homo sapiens was latent from the very onset of the evolutionary sequence. If evolution was a goal driven process, as I believe, that becomes a necessary assumption. Since that goal has now been reached, that may explain why evolution is no longer in progress.

You are absolutely correct in your insistence that Natural Selection had absolutely NOTHING to do with any aspect of evolutionary progress.

Natural Selection PREVENTS progress and always did!

Incidentally, I have no need for “security” here against those who do not agree with me. Why don’t they speak here? I will tell you why. It is because they have no confidence in their “beliefs” and they know that I will allow them free rein to present their “beliefs” no matter what they may be. Furthermore, they know that what they say will remain. That is why. They are insecure, intellectual cowards.There is no other explanation.

65. vmartin1 - February 26, 2009

I agree. The main point is that natural selection hasn’t played any role in evolution. It is pure a neodarwinian fantasmagory. It doesn’t mean that
environment cannot trigger some processes/phenotypes – like spring vs. summer wing patterns of some butterflies species. But as everyone knows they are already presented in the species.
Btw. Bernoulli is still active there. Censor Myers is still sleeping, or he became – a liberal? Impossible.

68. John A. Davison - February 26, 2009

Thank you Martin but speaking only for myself, no thanks. I want the record to be clear that I am banished from speaking at the following forums – ARN, EvC, Panda’s Thumb, After The Bar Closes, Watts Up With That?, Uncommon Descent, The Loom, RichardDawkins.net and most recently Real Climate. There are others as well but these are the principal venues for the discussion of global warming and organic evolution, two very important issues of the present time. At present I am allowed to speak at “brainstorms” and Young Cosmos, neither of which are of major influence.

Any forum that must ban its critics, as all of the above do, deserves all the contempt that I am delighted to heap upon it. It is as simple as that. If others choose to use proxy servers to invade the “bastions of bigotry” that is fine with me, but all that they are proving is what I have already proved by being banished. So if it feels good and floats your boat, I say do it. I can’t see how it will change anything but I also don’t see how it can do any harm. It is a wash.

Let me take this opportunity to make a suggestion which I believe might improve the climate of internet communication. The major problem has always been the same. It is anonymity. So here is my suggestion and my promise. If anyone knows the full identity of any anonymous poster, I ask them to email me that information with the understanding that I will publish what they have provided without disclosing their identity. These disclosures must be complete to be effective and must include the full name of the anonymous poster, what he does for a living, and any other personal data which will serve to characterize the cowardly blowhard. I will publish these disclosures without identifying their source. I am especially interested in those who are associated with Universities and Colleges where they can profoundly influence students with their cowardly tactics. I will delete all emails into the trash bin. If you would prefer to use snail mail you may mail the information to me at -

L4 Grand View Drive, South Burlington, Vermont 05403

Since 90% of weblog comments come from those whose identity is not apparent, I don’t see how this can possibly do any harm except to the reputation of the cowardly TRASH that continue to use this despicable means of expressing themselves. Perhaps they will be a little less willing to express themselves once their full identity has been disclosed. Since my identity is disclosed at Myers’ “Dungeon,” this will serve as my “Dungeon.” Two can play that game.

I will report back on the success of my suggestion. I will be very disappointed if I don’t get any results.

69. John A. Davison - February 26, 2009

For background I refer you back to message # 54 which links to Alan Keyes’ characterization of the Obama presidency with which I agree completely. Alan Keyes is the only politician with the courage to tell it like it is about B. Hussein Obama. None of the media, including even Fox News, properly recognize the motives of this man. He has only one goal which is to destroy this nation, the same goal he shares with his wife and his principal mentors, William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright.

All four loathe this once great nation. Rush Limbaugh is starting to realize what is going on but he is much too mild in his denunciation of this charlatan. Sean Hannity is also much too constrained in his commentary. This nation is being deliberately destroyed by Obama and nearly everyone is sitting on his thumbs, still oblivious to what is so obvious to this concerned citizen and scientist. The only question is whether he can be stopped before it is too late. That remains to be seen.

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

Not any longer it isn’t.

Welcome to the United Socialist States of America and the end of this nation as a world power. A military coup led by the various dissenting Governors and their militia may be the only reasonable remedy if this continues much longer. How can we expect a military to obey a man whose eligibility to be President has yet to be established? Rumblings from the military quarter have already begun. For the first time in the history of the Republic its greatest enemy now sits in the Oval Office.

70. John A. Davison - February 26, 2009

Tonight Bill O’Reilly quoted Alan Keyes’ description of Obama as a “radical Communist” but did it in such a way as to make Keyes look foolish. I am with Keyes myself. I just heard Karl Rove tell the truth about Obama’s “stimulus package” and its devastating effect on our economy. The sole purpose of this “stimulus package” is to nationalize every aspect of our economy, destroy the entrepeneurial class and convert the USA into the USSA, a Communist State exactly as Alan Keyes has foreseen. It is the biggest con job in history. Obama is no better than Dimitri Putin or Hugo Chavez, just another power crazed ideologue with a thinly disguised radical agenda, an agenda he inherited from, among others, William Ayers and Jeremiah Wright.

I recommend “An Obama Nation” by Jerome Corsi.

There is a sign that the public is already terrified of what is going on as gun sales are skyrocketing. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to see riots erupting if something isn’t done soon to stop this madness.

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

Not any more it isn’t!

71. John A. Davison - February 27, 2009

http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=90125

The plot thickens wth respect to Obama’s citizenship. Here we have a retired General calling for proof of his Amercan citizenship. Such proof has never been forthcoming. Philip J. Berg, a lifelong Democrat, is one of several plaintiffs, including Alan Keyes, none of whose cases have been recognized by the Supreme Court. If the Supreme Court were certain about Obama’s American citizenship they would be happy to rule on the matter. It is their refusal to hear any of several cases that is the most frightening aspect of this whole sordid affair. Berg is now calling for Obama’s deportment as an illegal alien who apparently is not even an American citizen. Imagine a sitting American President who is an Indonesian citizen. Sarah, Obama’s own grandmother, claims to have been an eyewitness to his birth in Kenya. Either way he is not an American citizen.

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

Not at all. I believe deportation would be a fitting sentence for the biggest charlatan ever to reach the Oval Offce. The problem might be finding a country that will accept him!

I love it so!

72. Kosta - February 27, 2009

I feel nothing will ever make it to official court. It seems he has protection against scandal… is this not true with most higher ups? unless the press hears about it of course.

Truly that video of Alan Keyes is moving. He highlighted some facts that the rest of the country seem to turn their back on…it seems this country is built on that action hence our predicament.

73. John A. Davison - February 27, 2009

The Press adores Obama and hates Alan Keyes. The Press hates all Conservatives.

What really disturbs me is the posture of the Supreme Court. They steadfastly refuse to rule on or even consider the several cases which have been brought questioning the eligibility of Obama to be President. What the hell are they afraid of? I think they are a bunch of wimps. I believe that they KNOW Obama is not eligibile but haven’t the guts to take on a Constitutional crisis. The issue isn’t going to go away. Of that you can be certain. The longer they refuse the worse it is going to get. I am bitterly disappointed in Chief Justice Roberts. It seems that “the one” has mesmerized even the Supreme Court. He hasn’t mesmerized this old physiologist. I think he is a power crazed ideologue who hates this once great nation and is doing everything in his power to bring it to its knees.

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

Not in the least!

I hate being right!

74. John A. Davison - February 28, 2009

B. Hussein Obama bears an eery resemblance to another radical ideologue – Adolf Hitler. Both inherited a weak economy, both were charismatic orators, gathering huge fanatical followings by promising glorious new futures. Hitler hated the Jews, Obama hates the entrepeneurial class which, incidentally, includes many Jews. Both used class warfare as a means to their ends. Both surrounded themselves with unethical allies and were products of sordid pasts. Both completely controlled the Press and the Courts. Both were Socialists.

We should remember that Hitler brought a devastation to a great German culture and civilization from which it has never recovered. Obama will do the same to this already weakened nation if he is allowed to continue.

Wake up America before it is too late. Show some spunk. Go to the streets if necessary. Some already have!

I hate being right.

http://www.theotherrussia.org/2009/02/26/kasparov-%e2%80%93-farewell-to-illusions/

This powerful analysis by Garry Kasparov applies not only to the regime of Valdimir Putin but just as aptly to that of our own B. Hussein Obama.

Putin and Obama share similar visions of absolute power and they both have perfect disdain for the democratic process and the rule of law. Both are corrupt and destined to fail in a free society. The timing will be the only difference.

The solution is the same in both instances. As always, it is up to the people to take the initiative. They are now doing it in Russia and we must do it here.

Let us pray.

76. Kosta - February 28, 2009

When reading that article I had to continuously remind myself that it was NOT the United States Kasparov was talking about!! So one main point he stressed is that a Nation’s prosperity, in harsh times, lies in the hands of a united(educated) people.
He mentioned that if the people were exposed(educated) to the different political ideologies and their pros and cons they can collectively create a successful (or at least attempt) a reform. Now is it not a Pandemic that people of the different unions are uneducated as a mob? Is it not the case that the masses are widely influenced by Press and Propaganda? and if a Nation has too much pride to expose its true colors to its own people then how is demise not inevitable?
Under these definitions, are the creation(and last resort) of USSA and USSR not inevitable?

I suppose i should hurry and complete Marx’s Capital. Maybe then i will be able to better correlate the “signs”.

77. John A. Davison - March 1, 2009

What is really scary is the inability of the Republican leadership to publicly declare what Obama’s goals actually are. Like the Supreme Court, they too are cringing cowards. Even Rush Limbaugh is pussyfooting around about the devastation Obama has planned for this country. They just don’t get it.

Obama has hated this nation from when he was a teenager hanging around on the Hawaiian beach with Frank Marshall Davis. While identified only as “Frank” in “Dreams Of My Father,” there is now no doubt it was Frank Marshall Davis, a member of the Communist Party USA and close friend of Paul Robeson, another America hating Communist.

Early associations are powerful influences on teenage minds. I can speak from experience. As an eighteen year old Freshman at the University of Wisconsin in 1946, I was gaga about my English teacher, a declared Communist. Fortunately I quickly outgrew that fantasy and by the time I was a Junior I was supporting Joseph McCarthy! I have been a Conservative ever since.

Obama’s entire history has been entwined with those who hate this nation, from Frank Marshall Davis to Louis Farrakhan, to William Ayers, to Jeremiah Wright to Tony Rezko and God only knows how many others yet to be disclosed. Don’t look to the Press for these disclosures as they carefully shielded the electorate from the ones I already mentioned all through the campaign. Fortunately, courageous jounalists like Jerome Corsi, legal scholars like Phillip Berg and fearless Conservatives like Alan Keyes have presented the truth about this imposter.

Obama’s biological inheritance is frightening enough, but his post partum history is a nightmare for any thinking student of the human condition. It is my conviction that there is no way that this man can possibly be a force for good for this nation.

I predict that Alan Keyes’ reputation will be greatly enhanced as one of the very few politicians with the courage to tell the truth about Barack Hussein Obama. I hope he runs one more time for President. Next time he will get my vote.

78. John A. Davison - March 2, 2009

The contraversy continues unabated. Obama’s undergraduate records from Columbia have also been shielded. There has never been a President about whom so little is known. The question remains – why?

God knows we already know enough about this man to realize he is a threat to the Republic, but if there is more I say out with it!

79. John A. Davison - March 2, 2009

Rush Limbaugh finally came out with a real stem winder in his speech Saturday. Much more important is the way he is going after Obama in earnest now on his radio show. It is about time.

B. Hussein Obama is rubbing his pink little hands with glee as the stock market continues to plunge, jobs continue to disappear while he remains above the fray by simply remaining silent. Why should he say anything when it is all going his way? He is presiding over the destruction of American Democracy by remaining silent and doing absolutely nothing.

Of course Limbaugh wants Obama to fail: So does Jerome Corsi, so does Alan Keyes, so does Philip Berg, so does every enlightened Conservative American and so do I.

Don’t say I, with others, didn’t warn you about B. Hussein Obama long before he was elected. As far as I am concerned he is, in a word, EVIL. Isn’t it interesting that EVIL is LIVE spelled backwards?

Professor, what are your views on this new push by the Obama admin. for merit pay to “better” teachers.
This proposition for a cut-throat, “wall-street” adapted, business based teacher hierarchy… Is it not going to destroy our educational system?
How can they possibly prove which teacher is better than another? Grading can’t be involved because it is too biased, “cheating” the system will spiral out of control and our educational system as we know it will perish.

Public school teachers are unionized. Obama loves unions because they promote mediocrity. His only goal is to destroy everything that made this nation great. I believe he is an incipient Hugo Chavez or Vladimir Putin, a power crazed ideologue with no respect for human life or the rule of law.

Martin

As usual you offer ideas of merit.

The one thing that just about everyone disagrees with me about is my determinism. Every person thinks that he has free will and every person believes that his view of the universe is the correct one. That is why it is useless to try to convince extreme ideologues like Dawkins and Myers that they are wrong. The studies on monozygotic twins separated at birth and then reunited and interviewed as adults leave little doubt that -

“EVERYTHING is determined…by forces over which we have no control.”
Albert Einstein

Apparently there is not a single human feature, physiological or psychological, that does not have a congenital basis. That is why I have included, in my list of important books, William Wright’s “Born That Way.”

This explains why various polarized factions exist. Humans naturally aggregate with others suffering from the same congenital predispositions to form majorities intolerant to any form of dissent from their shared intellectual collectivism. There is little place for reason in such a world. Those like Martin and myself who have invaded these worlds can testify to their nature by the way we have been received.

I think it is a serious mistake to become embroiled in a war in Afganistan. Iraq was entirely different matter. Iraq has been transformed into the only democracy in the arab world largely though tenacity of George W. Bush, a most worthwhile result.

I do not believe that will ever be achieved in Afganistan. Furthermore, Osama bin Laden is completely neutralized where he is and cannot mount any serious threat to this nation. Unlike Iraq which was the Cradle of Civilization, Afganistan has no cultural history and is unlikely ever to become a member of the community of nations. I believe the dangers to the United States posed by those favoring our intervention in the Pakistan/Afganistan disputes are vastly over rated. Besides, we are getting very little help from our presumed allies.

You would think that we might learn from the Russian experience there but it seems that -

“The one thing we learn from history is that we don’t learn from history.” (anonymous?)

Thank God for the diligence of Orly Taitz in pursuing the question of Barack Hussein Obama’s eligibility to hold the most powerful position in the world.

In a little over two months this charlatan has nationalized the auto industry and the banking industry and is well on his way to achieving his life long goal to destroy our already weakened nation by converting it to a socialist dictatorship – the U.S.S.A.

He has even found an enthusiastic ally in Gordon Brown.

It is hard to believe isn’t it?

Not any longer it isn’t!

113. John A. Davison - April 1, 2009

Girdon Brown is making a serious mistake by allying himself with Obama. I predict he will be ousted as Prime Minister within the year. The British Press is already calling for it. God bless them! I wish our press had the same good sense.

114. davescot - April 2, 2009

I’m extremely disappointed that no judge has had the spine to order Hawaii to cough up whatever documentation they’re in possession of regarding Obama’s birth. I don’t know what’s in those records but whatever it is is either damning or at the very least embarrassing. I wouldn’t be surprised if Stanley Ann Dunham isn’t his biological mother. No family photos of her pregnant in 1961, no hospital birth records, grandma Dunham conspicously silent… something is certainly rotten in the state of Denmark.

115. John A. Davison - April 2, 2009

What is really rotten is the Supreme Court. They suspect that Obama is possibly not even an American citizen but haven’t got the guts to hear the evidence. I suspect Roberts is the coward necessary to complete the quorum of four. I never did trust him.

Obama’s paternal grandma claimed he was born in Kenya. DNA tests are in order and should be demanded by the court. They won’t be of course. Obama is the only truly dangerous person ever to reach the White House. He will disgrace it before he leaves. Of that I am certain.
He already has. He has but one goal which is to destroy the entrepeneurial class which is the one thing that has always distinguished this nation from all others. With his genetic credentials and his post partum history there is no way that this charlatan can be anything but bad news for an already weakened society.

I hate being right!

Tomorrow there is a second round of presidental election in Slovakia (btw. all power is in hands of elected prime minister). Slovakia is the the only country in Central (or call it East if you like) Europe where communism came from the West (from the Czech republic of former Czechoslovakia) and not from Soviet East. Slovakia dismissed Soviet and Czech communists in election in 1946 as well as in 1948.
But Slovakia is the smallest Slavonic nation. There are always great powers – Austria-Hungarian empire, Germany & Hungary , Soviet Russia or USA that force their policy in this region. Frankly speaking – many years ago we put great hope in Reagan’s America.
.
On the other hand I think there are no greater writers of moden era than Russian authors of 19.cent. like Nikolay Gogol, Leo Tolstoy and especially Fyodor Dostoevsky, the great Christian writer – I think there are no writers in West that can stand against Dostoevsky – be it “Nobelpreistraeger” Heinrich Boll – or Francois Mauriac or – Graham Green. Dostoevky’s genius is unsurpassable.
.
.
Even one of the most influential atheist of the past – Friedrich Nietzsche – payed tribute to Fyodor Dostoevsky: he wrote in his last work “Twilight of the idols” that his encounter with great Russian Dostoevsky’s work was his most profound experience ever:
.
“Dostoevsky is the only psychologist, incidently, from whome i had something to learn he ranks among the most beautifull strokes of fortune in my life’”
.
But philosopher Nikolai Berdyaev (expelled from communist Russia by Lenin) called him more precisely – Dostoevsky was not “psychologist” – he was – pneumatologist!
There is no need to emphasize, that great Orthodox Christian Fyodor Dostoevsky dismissed communism and liberalism.

117. vmartin1 - April 3, 2009

remark to my previous post:
Dostoevsky analysed “psychology” of liberals and communists in one of his most profound work “The posessed”. Atheists are deeply analysed in his last work “Bretherns Kharamazovs”. Why communists won in Russia 1917 is a mystery of history.

I agree with you about the greatness of Russian literature and music as well. I add Leo Berg as the greatest Russian biologist of his generation. It is sad that such a great country should have suffered such constant persecution of its citizens, a persecution that still continues under despots like Vladimir Putin. I think Russia is a powderkeg. I recommend “The Other Russia” blog for an insight into Russian politics. I think Garry Kasparov is a great patriot. I fear for his life.

Orly Taitz and others continue to press the validity of Obama’s Presidency while Obama is overseas trashing the United States in the eyes of the world. Obama is a disgrace to the greatest nation on earth.

I have lost all respect for Bill O’Reilly who is praising Obama for his overseas comments. Fortunately, Charles Krauthammer is finally recognizing Obama for what he really is, a clear and present threat to the United States of America such as it has never seen before. I have also lost all respect for Mort Kondracke who is obviously a closet muddleheaded liberal.

123. John A. Davison - April 11, 2009

I see that Obama wants more money for both the Iraq and the Afghan wars. Don’t misjudge his motives. They are to bankrupt this nation, his goal all along. He knows that a bankrupt nation is vulnerable to socialism which is all he is trying to achieve. He hates this nation ansd the entrepeneurial class that made it great. He will try to tax us into submission. Obama is the only truly dangerous person ever to reach the Presidency.

It is insane to try to wage war in Afghanistan. Just as we failed to learn from the French in Vietnam, now we are doing the same after the Russian failure. Not a drop of American blood should ever have been spilled in the mountains of Afghanistan. It is the most barren and useless piece of real estate on the planet. Iraq was a magnificent achievement due largely to the determination of George W. Bush. By placing a democracy in the heart of Islam it is possible that other oppressed peoples in Iran and Syria may rise up and demand for themselves what the Iraqis now have thanks to our intervention.. Most revolutions come from within. Ours did and it may have to be repeated if Obama prevails. The same can be said for Putin’s Russia where another despot rules. Russia is a powder keg. Obama loves this economic crisis as it plays into his hands. One thing is certain. If he is to be stopped it will be because the American people finally figure this man out and stop treating him like some kind of rock star. If he has his way he will spend us into submission thereby leaving us as a socialist state, the USSA.

A friend of mine emailed this message. I thought it was very appropriate to America’s position in the world today so I offer it to others with my approval.

___________________________________________________________________________

When in England, at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building’ by George Bush.

He answered by saying, ‘Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.’

You could have heard a pin drop.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying ‘Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?’
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: ‘Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?’
You could have heard a pin drop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries.

Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English.’ He then asked, ‘Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?’

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied ‘Maybe it’s because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.’

You could have heard a pin drop.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE…
Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.
‘You have been to France before, monsieur?’ the customs officer asked sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.
Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.’
The American said, ”The last time I was here, I didn’t have to show it.
‘Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France !’
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, ”Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn’t find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to.’
You could have heard a pin drop.
If you are proud, pass this on!
If not delete it.
Gird Your Blogs!
Under “Cybersecurity”, Congress Will Be the Internet’s Greatest Threat!
By Brad O’Leary
Gird your blogs, because if liberals in Congress get their way, President Obama will have sole discretionary authority to shut down the Internet or critical parts of the Internet should he feel his presidency is being tested. Worse, under the guise of cybersecurity, Obama will essentially be granted the power to destroy free speech on the web.
On April 1st of this year, Senators Rockefeller, Snowe, Bayh and Nelson introduced bills S. 773 and S.778, collectively called the Cybersecurity Act, which would give President Obama dictatorial power over the Internet during a time of national crisis or emergency.
All of the bills’ sponsors voted for the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002 that prohibited organizations and individuals from running advocacy ads against candidates 60 days in advance of a general election. Now it seems these same people have conjured up a gag order for the Internet.
According to the current drafts, under the Cyber Security Act of 2009 the President may “declare a cybersecurity emergency and order the limitation or shut down of Internet traffic to and from any comprised federal government or United States critical infrastructure information system or network”. He may also “order the disconnection of any Federal Government or United States critical infrastructure information systems or networks in the interest of national security.”
What constitutes “cybersecurity emergency” or “critical infrastructure information system or network” is left completely up to the President to define. We know that the Administration, according to Rahm Emanuel, never wants “a serious crisis to go to waste”. We also know the Administration supports the regulation of free speech on the Internet.
President Obama’s choice to lead the powerful Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs is none other than Cass Sunstein, a radical Harvard law professor and supporter of the Fairness Doctrine for the Internet. According to Sunstein, “A system of limitless individual choices, with respect to communications, is not necessarily in the interest of citizenship and self-government.”
Obama campaign fundraiser and FCC Chair nominee, Julius Genachowski, is a supporter of “Net neutrality”, the first step in applying the Fairness Doctrine to the Internet.
“Net neutrality” proponents like Genachowski would have government decide what content Internet operators and network owners must provide. Incredibly, they claim this is to keep the Internet free and open to all, when in reality, their goal is to usher the heavy hands of federal regulators into the tent.
Stifling any venue where ideology competes with left-wing mainstream media has always been a goal of the left and Obama. Obama has just been more evasive in his means by supporting policies such as “net neutrality” and wobbling on the reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine to talk radio. Liberal members of Congress are now set on sending America on an unconstitutional b-line away from Uncle Sam and directly to Big Brother.
The Cybersecurity Act is also includes a provision where “The Department of Commerce shall serve as the clearinghouse of cybersecuirty threat and vulnerability information to the Federal Government and private sector owned (emphasis mine) critical infrastructure information systems and networks.” Shelving all privacy laws including the requirement for warrants, the Secretary of Commerce “shall have access to all relevant data concerning such networks without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule or policy restricting such access.” Senator Rockefeller made it clear in his statement what “relevant data” this act could include when he stated “We must protect our critical infrastructure at all costs – from our water to our electricity, to banking, traffic lights and electronic health records – the list goes on.”
While we have worried about cyber attacks from Russia and China, who would have thought the greatest threat would come from members of our own Congress.
I will present some quotes which I feel characterize the Obama Presidency with great accuracy. I will even tell you the page numbers where they may be found. I will not tell you the name of the author or his book until tomorrow. Some of you may already know or be willing to guess who is being quoted. Feel free to express yourself here. Tomorrow on this same message I will divulge the author and the profound significance his comments have in this critical period in our nation’s history.
“Since then, however, I have realized that political freedom and democratic rules alone are not sufficient to govern humanity. Democratic procedures can be subverted and dishonest politicians are like sand in the gearbox, abundant everywhere, and destructive. What I see in America today is people painting their cabins while the ship goes down” page xvi
“They made the rules up as they went along and did whatever served them at the monent to achieve their strategic goals always articulating the necessary reasons. And whether those reasons were true or not was of no consequence.” page 44
“What they really meant therefore was the separation of God and society, or maybe, better put, God FROM society….Therefore the Christian religion and its moral absolutes had to be destroyed.” page 45. (FROM originally in italics).
“Truth must be the battle cry for the second American Revolution.”
The following excerpts were presented before Obama was elected President -
“Barack Hissein Obama has been a member of the Rev. Wright’s church for twenty years. I find it doubtful that he as a highly intelligent person has not been aware in those years of the orientation of his church. Liberation theology is a subversive political movement, promotes Marxism with Christian vocabulary and tries to destroy moral foundation. Most likely Obama is part of an international radical Socialist anti-Christian and anti free-society network which presents itself as Christian similar to the ‘German Christians’.” The programs he promotes in the 2008 presidential election campaign are Marxist and anti-American. Since, furthermore, abortion is part of his political program he is not Christian but a fake Christian. He should not be president.” page 144.
“I recently heard presidential candidate Obama tell his audience that he doesn’t think China is an enemy. Instead, he characterized the nation in more benign terms saying, “it is a competitor.” I say he doesn’t know what he is talking about – or does he? Heaven help us if he comes to lead this nation. His concepts are as unreal as the statement of Nancy Pelosi after her visit to Damascus that “the road to peace goes throiugh Syria.” page 154.
100 Days of Devastatingly Swift Success
by Newt Gingrich
To mark President Obama’s 100th day in office, I’m going to say something you might find unexpected, even shocking:
President Obama’s first 100 days have been spectacularly successful.
President Obama is the strongest domestic Democratic President since Lyndon Johnson. His ability to get Democrats in Congress to give him things that undermine their own power is impressive.
In just 100 days, President Obama has been devastatingly effective in moving forward swiftly the most radical, government-expanding agenda in American history.
At home, in everything from his economic policy to his energy policy to his just-announced science policy, President Obama has successfully moved the country from a traditional American model of entrepreneurship and private initiative to a European model of regulation and government control.
Abroad, he has succeeded in his apparent goal to be the un-George W. Bush; replacing aggressive, if sometimes flawed, American leadership with a humbled, weakened America on the world stage.
Judged by these standards, President Obama’s first 100 days have been a remarkable success.
Getting Congress to Give Him Things That Undermine Their Own Power
The Obama record in the first 100 days includes three instances of spectacular political impunity:
Under the guise of “economic stimulus” he was able to pass a $787 billion gift for his liberal special interest base. And he did it so quickly that no member of Congress was able to read it before they voted.
After campaigning on a pledge to end earmarks, he signed an appropriations bill loaded with 8,000 earmarks – and paid no political penalty.
President Obama has kept congressional Democrats marching with him in lockstep. House Democrats tow the party line an amazing 94 percent of the time and Senate Democrats vote Democratic 91 percent of the time.
Two Historic Bureaucratic Power Grabs
In these first 100 days, the Obama Administration has achieved two historic bureaucratic power grabs:
President Obama has transformed the Federal Reserve and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) into giant engines of unsupervised spending. Together, they’ve spent the equivalent of the entire federal budget for 2007, without having to disclose where the money went.
Just two weeks ago, the President presided over an unprecedented bureaucratic power grab when his Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ruled that greenhouse gases pose a threat to public health. This seemingly innocuous decision opens the door to wholesale regulation of American life by government. The threat is so great that politicians and activists are using the specter of an out-of-control EPA to force Congress to pass a $1 trillion to $2 trillion energy tax in the form of cap-and-trade legislation.
In Foreign Policy, Weakness and Self-Delusion
The Obama 100 days record also includes remarkable weakness and self-delusion overseas:
In an attempt to overcome anti-Americanism abroad by agreeing with it, President Obama has gone on a global apology tour, labeling America as “arrogant, dismissive and derisive” in front of foreign audiences.
President Obama has unleashed a domestic war over the meaning of guilt by caving in to the anti-American left and leaving the door open to prosecuting Bush Administration officials over the interrogation of terrorists who plotted to kill Americans.
But all these successful expansions of government at home and retractions of American leadership abroad are merely a prelude to President Obama’s looming crowning achievement: His 2010 budget which remakes our health care system, remakes our energy system, raises taxes and forecasts an amazing $9 trillion increase in the national debt.
As I write this, Democrats in Congress are fashioning a deal to pass the budget’s provisions on health care by preventing Republicans and moderate Democrats from having a voice in the debate.
Think about that. The Obama-Reid-Pelosi political machine is going to pass legislation that fundamentally affects every single American – as well as 17 percent of our economy – by cutting the elected representatives of half of all Americans out of the process.
If they succeed, the budget will be President Obama’s most enduring – and devastating – accomplishment.
___________________________________________________________________________
Barack Hussein Obama is without question the most dangerous person ever to reach the Presidency. He has but one goal which it to destroy the entrepeneurial class that made this nation great. He is the perfect anti-Christ with no respect for human life, the sanctity of the polling place or the Constitution he has sworn to protect. He is, in a word – EVIL.
There had better be riots in the streets this summer or this country is finished as the planet’s last bastion for a free society.
I am one of more than 300,000 Catholics who have signed a petition urging the Unversity of Notre Dame to withdraw its inviitation for President Obama to speak at its commencement. This will be an interesting test of the commitment of Notre Dame to its reputation as a Catholic institution as well as a test of the influence that a disappointed public may wield on the reception of man who has no respect for human life, the rule of law and the Constitution he has sworn to protect.
I won’t be be surprised if Obama declines the invitation and thereby avoids what can only be bad publicity for himself and his ultra-lberal cronies in Congress.
It spells trouble for Obama no matter what happens now and as far as i am concerned that is a good thing.
The Late Great State Of Israel
How Enemies Within and Without Threaten the Jewish Nation’s Survivial
By Aaron Klein
The Obama administration is leading Israel down a road that, if not altered, may result in the Jewish state’s demise, according to a new book released this week that Hal Lindsey has called a “must-read for anyone seeking to understand the Mideast.”
In the blockbuster book, The Late Great State of Israel, author and WND Jerusalem bureau chief Aaron Klein warns that Israel is facing unprecedented, mortal danger, yet few seem to realize it.
Klein takes no prisoners, fingering both the U.S. and yes, even the Israeli government for “actively working against the Jewish state’s interests.”
Klein is known for his one-on-one interviews with some of the Middle East’s most dangerous terrorists.
During the recent presidential campaign, Klein broke some of the most important stories about Barack Obama, including the politician’s associations with Bill Ayers and anti-Israel personalities like former PLO spokesman Rashid Khalidi. It was during an exclusive interview with Klein that the Hamas terrorist organization infamously endorsed Obama.
Now Klein is back with an urgent message, a clarion call for all supporters of Israel. The great Mideast democracy faces catastrophe, he warns.
Among the themes of this crucial book are:
Indications Obama is poised to legitimize Hamas terrorists
How Obama’s Mideast policies may threaten the Jewish state, and ultimately America
How Jerusalem has ALREADY been divided, and the Temple Mount practically forfeited!
How Iran is positioning its proxies to wreck havoc on Israel
How the news media is covering for terrorists and playing a dangerous lying game about the Mideast and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
How the U.S. is funding Palestinian terrorism;
How and why Israel failed in its recent twenty-two-day war in Gaza;
How Hamas is preparing to take over the West Bank
A dangerous war being waged on Israel’s national religious camp; and much more.
“Unless these and other outlined perils are countered soon,” warns Klein, “the only remnant of the Jewish country may soon be an epitaph: ‘The Late Great State of Israel.’”
Is Barack Obama Crazy?
By Joseph Farah, editor and CEO of WorldNetDaily
I KNOW.
“Is Barack Obama Crazy?” is a pretty provocative subject for an email.
I admit, I don’t know the answer to the question.
But, given Barack Obama’s actions in the first few months of his administration, it’s a valid question.
And so, the May issue of WorldNetDaily’s acclaimed monthly Whistleblower magazine takes it on.
Let’s examine some of the evidence:
If you held a job and people were questioning your qualifications, and all you had to do to put an end to those questions, not to mention more than a dozen lawsuits filed against you, was to produce a valid birth certificate you claimed to possess, would you refuse to take that simple step? Or would you, as Obama has done, spend at least $1 million to fight the lawsuits? I think most people would agree that someone who chose the latter is either crazy or doesn’t have a valid birth certificate.
Let’s say you got a job in which you succeeded someone with whom you disagreed passionately.Would you try to have that person prosecuted over those differences, knowing that some day, someone with whom you disagree would succeed you and possibly contemplate the same course of action? That’s what Obama talked about doing in the case of his disagreement with George W. Bush over the practice of coercive interrogations – policies, I might point out, that were employed not just by his immediate predecessor, but by every war-time president in the history of the United States.
Or what do you make of Obama’s efforts to ban the use of the words “terror” and “terrorism” from his administration’s lexicon? The administration prefers to call attacks on terrorists “overseas contingency operations.” And terrorist attacks at home are referred to as “man-caused disasters.” These new terms are apparently considered less offensive to terrorists.
While there are hundreds of thousands of U.S. citizens voluntarily serving in arms overseas, the Obama administration put out a report to law enforcement agencies throughout the country to be wary of returning veterans, because they might be more inclined to get involved in “right-wing extremist” activities.
Obama presides – legitimately or illegitimately – over a nation founded on the ideals of “independence” and “national sovereignty.” Yet, in a speech given in Prague, what was his prescription for making the world a better place? “All nations must come together to build a stronger, global regime,” he said.
How about his solution to an economic crisis spurred by too much indebtedness? More debt.
Let’s say you’re the first black president. Do you appoint a black attorney general who indicts the people who just elected you as a “nation of cowards” on matters of race?
Imagine appointing to a top policy position at the Defense Department, a columnist from the Los Angeles Times who believes U.S. policies were to blame for the 9/11 attacks by al-Qaida. That would be Rosa Brooks, who also previously referred to Obama’s immediate predecessor as “our torturer in chief ” and a “psychotic who need(s) treatment” while comparing Bush’s arguments for waging a war on terrorism to Adolf Hitler’s use of political propaganda.
I could go on, but I think you get the picture.
I don’t know if any of these actions mean the president is crazy. But I do know they mean he is dangerous to the security and prosperity of the nation.
One more example of Obama’s duplicity with respect to the Middle East. Here we see his middle name speaking.
150. John A. Davison - June 5, 2009
The following is by Alan Keyes, a great American.
Sotomayer and the Tyranny of Race
In every important respect Obama’s victory in the 2008 presidential election was a victory for racism. First there was the racist claim that his skin color made his election somehow significant for black Americans with whom he otherwise shares no common moral or historical heritage. Second, his stubborn advocacy of the parent’s right to murder her child made it a victory in principle for the racist notion that “inferior” physical development leaves people with no rights that must be respected by their supposed betters. Third, the US Constitution has been openly set aside on account of fears that racist violence would result from investigating the facts regarding his citizenship at birth (lest they support the conclusion that he is constitutionally ineligible to serve as President of the United States.) Truth, right and the Constitution all sacrificed for the sake of racist fears and premises.
The reaction in some quarters to the Sotomayer selection smacks of the same racist mentality. “Janet Murguia, president and CEO of the National Council of La Raza, called Sotomayor’s nomination ‘a monumental day for Latinos. Finally we see ourselves represented on the highest court in the land.’” There was a time when we understood that those who served on the Supreme Court had first and foremost to prove that they represented the whole people of the United States, whose sovereign will constitutes the legitimacy of the Constitution it is their duty to uphold. The notion that someone would serve as the representative of this or that race or special interest tended to disqualify them from service.
Of course, a person proposed for a seat on the bench can’t be held responsible for how others see her. But in a speech she reportedly gave in 2001 “Sotomayor has said that personal experiences “affect the facts that judges choose to see….I simply do not know exactly what the difference will be in my judging…but I accept that there will be some based on my gender and my Latina heritage.”
If her assessment of herself was correct, her own words disqualify her from serving on the Supreme Court. Unless we mean to overturn the whole idea of Constitutional government, the decisions of the justices of the Supreme Court should be based on the Constitution and the laws. No justices can be allowed to “accept” judgments based on gender or ethnicity. If they do, what becomes of the promise of liberty and justice for all, of equal rights and the equal protection of the law?
Does the notion that it’s somehow acceptable to disregard the Constitution on account of race in Obama’s case now make it acceptable to confirm as a Supreme Court Justice someone willing to allow their ethnic identity to distort their judgment of facts, and the basis for their decisions? Tragically, this is exactly the racist legal culture we would expect to result from the racist political mentality the Obama faction exploited to achieve his electoral victory.
Unity is always on their lips, but their hearts are far from it. Instead of a national government that represents our common heart for justice and liberty, the Obama faction means to create a fractured reflection of all our differences, until we forget how to see, think and act as Americans, regardless of those differences. With this dissolution of the American identity they prepare the way for the dissolution of the United States itself, so that a strong sense of our national identity no longer poses an obstacle to their plans for a new, global regime that sets aside our “provincial” concerns with right and ordered liberty.
Of course, those concerns are precisely what raise our national consciousness above the level of mere group selfishness, so that our concern for the good of our nation becomes a concern for the rights and decent freedom of all humanity. The sacrifices we commemorate every Memorial Day are marked by headstones and memorials in far flung corners of the globe where Americans gave ultimate proof that this concern is no pious abstraction. But it seems that what they died to preserve for others, we are now quietly surrendering ourselves under the mesmerizing influence of racist fears and lies.
Such is the change Obama represents. But where is the hope in it, except for those who succeed, as he did, by invoking the power of the very evil their success has supposedly overcome? “Racism is dead,” they seem to say, “Long live the tyranny of race.”
I regard this as a very significant commentary on the Obama Presidency and its purposes.
152. davescot - June 10, 2009
I’ve been following the coverup of Obama’s history closely for going in a year now. Something is definitely rotten in the State of Denmark. I wonder though why nothing has leaked. Too many institutions – US gov’t passport records, Occidental U, Harvard U, and Hawaii DHS – have hidden docs that too many people want to see for something not to have leaked out by now. Some US intelligence agency must know the score and is holding the goods. Someone has Obama by the balls working him like a puppet on a string. The flaw in that conspiracy theory is the judicial system. Hard to believe so many judges could be coerced into not letting anyone get their day in court. There must have been couple dozen cases brought by now in front as many judges and they were all thrown out.
Anyhow, in another thread you said you had great respect for Russian scientists so I thought this one might interest you:
Mars Melt Hints at Solar, Not Human, Cause for Warming, Scientist Says
Kate Ravilious
for National Geographic News
February 28, 2007
Simultaneous warming on Earth and Mars suggests that our planet’s recent climate changes have a natural—and not a human-induced—cause, according to one scientist’s controversial theory.
Earth is currently experiencing rapid warming, which the vast majority of climate scientists says is due to humans pumping huge amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. (Get an overview: “Global Warming Fast Facts”.)
Mars, too, appears to be enjoying more mild and balmy temperatures.
In 2005 data from NASA’s Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey missions revealed that the carbon dioxide “ice caps” near Mars’s south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row.
Habibullo Abdussamatov, head of space research at St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory in Russia, says the Mars data is evidence that the current global warming on Earth is being caused by changes in the sun.
“The long-term increase in solar irradiance is heating both Earth and Mars,” he said.
Solar Cycles
Abdussamatov believes that changes in the sun’s heat output can account for almost all the climate changes we see on both planets.
Mars and Earth, for instance, have experienced periodic ice ages throughout their histories.
“Man-made greenhouse warming has made a small contribution to the warming seen on Earth in recent years, but it cannot compete with the increase in solar irradiance,” Abdussamatov said.
By studying fluctuations in the warmth of the sun, Abdussamatov believes he can see a pattern that fits with the ups and downs in climate we see on Earth and Mars.
Abdussamatov’s work, however, has not been well received by other climate scientists.
“His views are completely at odds with the mainstream scientific opinion,” said Colin Wilson, a planetary physicist at England’s Oxford University.
“And they contradict the extensive evidence presented in the most recent IPCC [Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change] report.” (Related: “Global Warming ‘Very Likely’ Caused by Humans, World Climate Experts Say” [February 2, 2007].)
Amato Evan, a climate scientist at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, added that “the idea just isn’t supported by the theory or by the observations.”
Planets’ Wobbles
The conventional theory is that climate changes on Mars can be explained primarily by small alterations in the planet’s orbit and tilt, not by changes in the sun.
“Wobbles in the orbit of Mars are the main cause of its climate change in the current era,” Oxford’s Wilson explained. (Related: “Don’t Blame Sun for Global Warming, Study Says” [September 13, 2006].)
All planets experience a few wobbles as they make their journey around the sun. Earth’s wobbles are known as Milankovitch cycles and occur on time scales of between 20,000 and 100,000 years.
These fluctuations change the tilt of Earth’s axis and its distance from the sun and are thought to be responsible for the waxing and waning of ice ages on Earth.
Mars and Earth wobble in different ways, and most scientists think it is pure coincidence that both planets are between ice ages right now.
“Mars has no [large] moon, which makes its wobbles much larger, and hence the swings in climate are greater too,” Wilson said.
No Greenhouse
Perhaps the biggest stumbling block in Abdussamatov’s theory is his dismissal of the greenhouse effect, in which atmospheric gases such as carbon dioxide help keep heat trapped near the planet’s surface.
He claims that carbon dioxide has only a small influence on Earth’s climate and virtually no influence on Mars.
But “without the greenhouse effect there would be very little, if any, life on Earth, since our planet would pretty much be a big ball of ice,” said Evan, of the University of Wisconsin.
Most scientists now fear that the massive amount of carbon dioxide humans are pumping into the air will lead to a catastrophic rise in Earth’s temperatures, dramatically raising sea levels as glaciers melt and leading to extreme weather worldwide.
Abdussamatov remains contrarian, however, suggesting that the sun holds something quite different in store.
“The solar irradiance began to drop in the 1990s, and a minimum will be reached by approximately 2040,” Abdussamatov said. “It will cause a steep cooling of the climate on Earth in 15 to 20 years.”
Dave
I’m surprised you put this in this thread as it belongs in the Global Warming thread, but since you did I will respond here.
I believe the over riding factor is human caused and it is the melting of the polar and continental ice that is temporarily delaying the inevitable as I suggested in my essay. They treated me like an ignorant boob at Real Climate. That is nothing new for me. I get treated like that everywhere I speak. All I can say is that I have yet to put an idea in print that didn’t prove to have substantial merit in the long run.
One of the virtues of having your own weblog is you get to tell all the “experts” off and put out your own spiel.
I love it so!
Tim Flannery doesn’t think much of solar emissivity changes and neither do I. The Milankovich cycles are very real and important but what we have experienced in the last couple centuries is an entirely different matter.
The Age of Technology, our terminal Age, could never have occurred without the Industrial Revolution which preceded it and was the real culprit. I believe we are in our final century as a civilization, a conclusion I share for somewhat different reasons with Martin Rees, President of the Royal Society. I recommend his book “Our Final Century.”
It is not just CO2. Methane is a much greater danger as the permafrost thaws. Methane autoxidizes in the atmosphere into H2O and CO2, both greenhouse gases themselves. As world wide precipitation continues to rise, more and more swamps will be produced and with it more methane. The future is a certain nightmare and I don’t believe there is anything we now can do about it. The only hope is to go entirely nuclear/electrical for all surface transportation. We already have that in the Navy. We should have done that long ago.
I believe it is too late now.
I hate being right.
154. John A. Davison - June 10, 2009
As for Obama, he is the most dangerous man ever to occupy the Oval Office, the only really dangerous man. I don’t believe anyone is controlling him. I believe with Robert Bork that the Supreme Court is corrupt. I don’t trust Roberts especially.
As a nation we have lost our way just like every other great civilization before us. It is all part of the Cosmic “Prescribed” Plan. We have become a nation of spoiled, obese, complacent brats, just like Rome became towards its end. Europe is slightly preceding us. There is only one thing that can save us and that is a grass roots revolt such as refusing to pay our taxes which this creep is already burdoning us with. I predict riots this summer not only here but in Russia as well. I realize my track record on predictions is lousy but I still believe both will occur. Obama is the biggest charlatan of all time and the perfect Anti-Christ with no respect either for life or the rule of law. His genetic heritage is a nightmare and his past associations with the dregs of humanity label him a disaster for this nation. Thank God Cheney has the guts to tell it like it is. I hope Bush joins in too. Sarah Palin isn’t afraid of him and his hideous entourage of ultraliberal communist/fascist sympathizers. She could be our Margaret Thatcher if she can prevail. I can see it now – Sarah “iron pants” Palin. It sounds good to me.
Obama has only one goal which is to destroy Western Democracy. There is only one other democracy left besides ours and that is Israel. He obviously hates Israel just as he hates America. The man is the perfect Manchurian Candidate, no better than Dimitri Putin or Hugo Chavez. He is a born to lose loser, no better than Richard Dawkins or Paul Zachary Myers, all five cut from the same cloth. Western Civilization was built on the Christian ethic and it will die when that ethic is abandoned. It has already happened in Europe. We are next. It is as simple as that.
Sic semper tyrannis.
Obama’s failure to support the Iran uprising doesn’r surprise me. He hates Democracy in any form and is terrified at the prospect that Iran might become a Democracy like its neighbor Iraq. George W. Bush’s greatest accomplishment was the establishment of a Democratic government in Iraq. It is obvious that the Iranis want the same thing. Freedom is anathema to Obama. He is a power crazed ideologue not fundamentally different from Putin or Chavez.
His silence at this critical juncture in the history of the middle east speaks volumes as to his purposes and his character.
165. John A. Davison - June 30, 2009
I noticed that Obama, when announcing the withdrawal of our forces from Iraqi cities, refrerred to Iraq as a “sovereign state” but made no mention of the fact that Oraq is a “Democratic sovereign state.” “Sovereign state” means only that the government answers to no higher authority. Nazi Germany was a “sovereigh state” and contemporary Russia is as well. I don’t believe that Obama cares for “Democracy” very much. His tastes run more to the kind of sovereignty one finds in Cuba and China. The word “Democracy” is not in Obama’s lexicon.
Edit added 6:45 PM. Charles Krauthammer just made the same observation. A democratic Iraq was the personal achievement of George W. Bush.
166. John A. Davison - July 3, 2009
I am a great fan of Sarah Palin. In her anouncement to step down as Governor of Alaska, she made a very cogent observation. She accused Americans of apathy, of going with the flow. She added the quip “only dead fish go with the flow.” I think she is a person of great quality and the perfect antidote for the Godless liberalism which has enveloped our present Government. She is completely honest. As President she could be our counterpart to Britain’s “iron pants” Thatcher for whom I also have great respect. I am proud to be her supporter.
This is the kind of reality that has always made me suspicious of Obama’s intentions toward Democracy. I do not believe that Obama is a friend of Democracy in Israel, in Iraq, in the United States, or any place else. I am unable to trust this man to lead this country and, judging from his falling poll numbers, I am not alone. Obama continues freely to transfer power from the Department of State to the White House. He is doing the same thing to Congress. Sooner or later I expect Hillary Clinton to resign in a fit of pique. His treatment of her is a scandal. He is a power crazed, selfish tyrant.
What is really scary is Kurzer is a Jew; but then so is Rahm Emanuel. How can one be a Jew and an enemy of Israel? The world owes more of its culture to the Jews than to any other segment of the human population. In my opinion their survival is because their superior intelligence is the result of their capacity to survive centuries of persecution, a demonstration of natural selection for intelligence in action.
186. John A. Davison - August 26, 2009
Furthermore, I now believe that Obama and his intimates are sympathetic to the Islamofascist enemies of Israel and the United States. I see no other reason why he would weaken our defenses by hindering the CIA from using whatever means prove to be necessary to prevent further attacks on the homeland. All that is necessary now is another attack on the homeland at which time Obama will declare marshal law, suspend habeus corpus, censor all communication and realize what he has always sought, the destruction of our Democratic Government.. As I see it that is only a matter of time. I hope that a military coup is being prepared to deal with such an eventuality because that may prove to be necessary.
Sorry to post this John, but the cowards ticked me off they totally ambush you and Martin with ever opportunity to which you easily defeat them. So their only defense is to throw insults and ad homein comments. That being said read the following:
Insidious Creationism: the intellectual abuse of children through creationist books, comics and literature
James Williams, University of Sussex, England
Basically he made bold statements saying British scientist think it is child abuse to teach children that Evolution by Darwin is false so they want to forcefully take your child and brain wash them into being a zealot for Darwin.
He also made claims that nothing but Darwinism is science. Creationist distort science to fool you into thinking it’s real science. Winston Churchill would piss on these guys.
James Williams seems to be using the same tractics as Richard Dawkins. I have made my views well known about Darwinian atheism and there is no point in repeating myself. Is that a book to which you refer? Did he mention me or Martin by name? Dawkins sure never has and never will. What is the seminar to which you refer?
A link would help me understand what you are talkiing about.
194. 1dublinevans - September 2, 2009
Sorry John,
Williams was speaking at the Humanism conference http://www.humanism.org.uk/meet-up/events/view/20
his own page http://www.sussex.ac.uk/education/profile153595.html on youtube he claims ALL creationist theories are incorrect and religiously motivated, On you tube I had a sense he was calling out all the non biblical creations like yourself. He basically said that everyone was lying to deny the transitional in the fossil record is a waste of time they know the origin of life and any other theories are just to promote religion. I find his arguments were always followed I have studied creation science for ten years and know all their tactics. It sounds to me the religous fanatics are with Dawkins and Williams?
195. John A. Davison - September 2, 2009
Thanks. These links expose Williams as an atheist Darwinian, chance worshipping ideologue. He is incorrect. All creationists are not religiously motivated. Einstein wasn’t and neither am I nor were any of my sources. I recommend my essay “What is a creationist?” as well as the sister essay “What is an atheist?” I found it necessary to redefine both terms. The Darwinian atheists and the religious fundamentalists are both wrong.
196. 1dublinevans - September 2, 2009
I think you were correct in your original diagnosis when you said when Obama took office we would return to the dark ages you were absolutley correct in that perdiction. I never thought science or morals would be pushed to the side for such a fairy tale idealogy. It is obvious they cannot debate you or Martin as both Dawkins and Meyers live in mortal fear of you. Why else would these resort to their tactics John? Banishment and have the village idiots attack logic with insanity, You win they loose but it might be too late for us.
But some parents and conservatives are blasting the president, calling the speech an excuse to brainwash American children.
I saw the video it’s a bunch of non intellectual celebrities claiming allegiance to Obama. In parts were Gods name should be they replace it with Obama. We are royally screwed John. I hear he has been declaring he will be the last US President? What they hell does that mean?
It is crunch time for the Obama oligarchy. The next few weeks are critical to his plan which is to destroy our democracy. If an attack takes place now he will try to suspend the democratic process. He has deliberately gathered revolutionaries as his intimates and advisors, granting them powers in violation of his Constitutional authority. All that is required is another nine eleven. It wouldn’t surprise me if that is also part of his plan.
What amazes me is the way so many assume he is a bungling novice when EVERYTHING he does is crafted with one end in mind, the destruction of the Republic.
His overt attempt to brainwash our youth is obviously a thinly disguised fascist Hitlerjugend tactic – Sieg heil Obama!
I repeat – Obama is the only truly dangerous person ever to occupy the Oval Office.
Hey John Democrats are now trying to save their seats and turning on their own.
“Similar sentiments echo across the House. Rep. Jim McGovern (D., Mass.) said he fears Afghanistan could become a quagmire. “I just have this sinking feeling that we’re getting deeper and deeper into a war that has no end,” he said.
Rep. John Conyers (D., Mich.) dismissed Mr. Obama’s plans as “embarrassingly naive,” and suggested that the president is being led astray by those around him.”
201. John A. Davison - September 5, 2009
Obama is not being led astray by anyone. He is doing all the leading. He is doing exactly what he wants which is to convert the USA into the USSA or worse, into a world government with Obama as Fuhrer.
To ever have become involved in Afghanistan was an error. We should have learned from the Russians. We have got to stop trying to police the planet as it will destroy us.
“The one thing we learn from history is that we don’t learn from history.”
I see Van Jones, Obama’s hand picked “Green Czar,” resigned, largely due to the diligence of right wing radio and television voices like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Thank God. One down and several more to go I say, including Mark LLoyd, “Broadcasting Czar” and John Holdren, “Abortion Czar.” Obama’s appointment of these “Czars” was clearly unconstititional and should be challenged in the courts. The real Obama is revealed by those with whom he surrounds himself now as in the past. Never before in the history of the Republic have we seen such flagrant naked abuses of power.
203. vmartin1 - September 6, 2009
Slovak parliament has amended the law about using of the state language. It means that all official documents and information must be also written in Slovakian. It means that radio brodcast in mixed area must be brodcasted also in Slovakian language. I think the same law exists in USA. I think it is impossible in USA to enter any state office and deal with an official who do not speak English (let say he speaks only Spanish). But this is the situation which Slovaks are facing in the south part of Slovakia. If you do not speak Magyar you can’t underestand yourself there.
Now Magyar parliamentarians are heading to the US Congress. They want US Congress to condemn our law about state language. They will use lies like the law forbid using their language in church and other nonsense. Their policy is always based on lies.
The fact is that Slovakian and German minorities in Hungary are completely destroyed nowadays. From 500.000 Slovaks and 500.000 German in Hungrary after WW 1 only small remnants survived – about 17.000 Slovaks.
In 1920 lived in Slovakia 500.000 Magyars and today their number is same. Yet hungarians use lies how modelled they treat minorities in Hungary and how magyars are opressed in Slovakia!
Hungarian president was denied entry into Slovakia 21.August this year. The same day that Soviets and Magyars entered in 1968 Czecho-Slovakia to supress our freedom. Hungarian president intended to celebrate hungarian king Stephen in our country that day! Our president was not invited.
I hope US congresmen would not believe in hungarian lies about law of state language in Slovakia.
204. John A. Davison - September 6, 2009
Martin
As far as I know English has always been our state language. The way things are going it may one day be Spanish. In England and France it may become Arabic as the Muslims multiply in Europe. A nation that loses its cultural identity is doomed.
Obama had better be careful what he says to America’s children on September 8. He is already in trouble with his thirty plus “Czars.” Van Jones was not the only radical member of his shadow government. Obama obviously has no respect for the rule of law. It is also revealing that he will address both Houses of Congress on September 9. I believe he is desperate.
206. John A. Davison - September 7, 2009
What I find really mind boggling is how many excuse Obama on the grounds that he is naive about those with whom he surrounds himself. Don’t you ever believe it! Every appointment he ever made was deliberate and intended to destroy our Democracy. For the real Obama, I recommend Michelle Malkins’ book “Culture of Corruption” with the subtitle “Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks and Cronies.” I have listed it under Important Books along with Jerome Corsi’s “The Obama Nation.”
207. 1dublinevans - September 8, 2009
Last week President Obama appointed yet another “czar” with massive government power, answering only to him. Even before this latest appointment, the top-ranking Democrat in the Senate wrote President Obama a letter saying that these czars are unconstitutional. President Obama’s “czar strategy” is an unprecedented power grab centralizing authority in the White House, outside congressional oversight and in violation of the Constitution. Senator Byrd wrote a letter to President Obama in February, criticizing the president’s strategy of creating czars to manage important areas of national policy. Senator Byrd said that these appointments violate both the constitutional system of checks and balances and the constitutional separation of powers, and is a clear attempt to evade congressional oversight. (Didn’t this White House promise unprecedented transparency?)
208. 1dublinevans - September 8, 2009
As Obama promised in his campaign, the desire for one party rule in the United States and the removal of Republicans from places like Arizona is the agenda of the DNC. The stimulus money is a club which Obama will use to centralize the role of the federal government and neutralize the sovereignty of the states. You know, much of what Obama is doing is unconstitutional, but you wouldn’t know it unless you listen to Fox news instead of the state run media like MSNBC.
209. John A. Davison - September 8, 2009
Dublin
Whom are you quoting? It is expected when quoting others that they be identified.
I am really disappointed in the Republicans in the House and Senate. They should be screaming for impeachment. They have plenty of grounds. Obama is an enemy of the state.
It is crunch time for Obama and his cronies and the next few days are critical. What concerns me is the possibility of a planned crisis which would grant him emergency powers. He has already violated the Constitution. I do not trust the man as far as I could spit upwind in a hurricane. Those that do are fools. Obama shares his godless arrogance and lust for power with P.Z. Myers and Richard Dawkins. We are witnessing the eternal battle between the forces of good and evil. At present the evil faction occupies the seat of power both in government and in evolutionary science. It is as simple as that. It all boils down to humility. Those like Obama, Myers, Dawkins and other godless ideologues have no humility. They are convinced they know what is best for all. They can’t help it as they were “born that way.” They literally don’t realize what they are doing. Christ said as much 2000 years ago -
“Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.”
I hope my analysis explains why I am convinced that there had to be at least two Gods, one benevolent, the other malevolent. We are all victims in a determined sequence over which we have no control. Some of us have been blessed with the conviction that human life is precious. Others, like the atheists Barack Obama, Paul Zachary Myers and Richard Dawkins have a documented history of contempt for not only human life but for the entire Judeo-Christian ethic for which the individual life is the cornerstone.
“Everything is determined… by forces over which we have no control.”
Sorry John,
I think it is Washington post I thought it had pasted with the rest of text.
213. John A. Davison - September 9, 2009
I have decided to participate on FaceBook for the simple reason that I am tired of dealing with anonymous cowardly blowhards. Is it safe to assume that comments between users of FaceBook are words of real human beings using their actual names? It probably isn’t.
214. John A. Davison - September 10, 2009
Why aren’t Pee Zee Myers and Richard Dawkins on FaceBook gathering their friends and allies in their common cause to destroy Western Civilization? Dawkins doesn’t even participate on his own weblog. These creeps are spineless insurrectionists who have gathered their armies to destroy the basis of the Judeo-Christian ethic but they are incapable of responding to their mortal enemies even when their own purposes have been flagrantly flaunted in the most repulsive fashion. Those who are unable to recognize a purposeful universe contribute nothing of value to the human condition. Quite the contrary, they erode the very system that allows them to pursue their hateful jihad to destroy all that has made individual freedom the envy of the world. The sad part is they literally do not know what they are doing just as Christ proclaimed -
“Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.”
I for one am incapable of following the Savior’s advice. It is time to expose them, challenge them and neutralize their relentless attack on the basis of all that distinguishes our unique culture, a culture which has made us the envy of the world. Congenital atheism is EVIL and should be dealt with as such. As near as I can determine, Barack Obama is an atheist as well which explains why Myers is behind him 100 percent.
There now. I feel somewhat better.
215. 1dublinevans - September 10, 2009
Here is some bad news for the Obama administration.
That suits me just fine!
218. John A. Davison - September 17, 2009
It is my opinion that Barack Obama is deliberately weakening this nation’s defenses to invite an attack. He is desperate because the electorate is overtly against his policies. An attack on the nation would allow him to implement powers he does not yet have but desperately seeks. I am sorry to offer such an analysis of his actions but I feel a responsibility to present my evaluation of his motives. I cannot trust this man with the welfare of our country. I believe he harbors a deep animus towards our free society. It is demonstrated by his associations past and present with some of the dregs of society.
I hate being right and pray that I am wrong.
219. John A. Davison - September 18, 2009
Obama is hitting the morning TV talk shows this weekend in a desperate attempt to preserve his agenda. The glaring exception, Fox News, out polls all the others combined. Revealing isn’t it?
220. John A. Davison - September 22, 2009
And now he is inserting himself into senate and house races in a desperate attempt to preserve his agenda which is to destroy our representive government and convert us into a nanny state with himself and his hand picked cronies as the baby sitters of the masses. Fortunately, the tide is finally turning against him. I hope it doesn’t prove to be too late.
221. John A. Davison - September 25, 2009
My respect for Glenn Beck took a turn for the worse when he suggested that Obama was a better choice than John McCain. Mr. Beck should watch his words or he may end up like Howard Beale of Network fame, another pompous blowhard. Words have meaning Mr. Beck and they should be chosen carefully. I expect an apology.
222. John A. Davison - September 25, 2009
You won’t believe this. Price Chopper here in Vermont is now offering Fox News Channel for its customers to enjoy in their newly refurbished coffeee shop on Shelburne Road. I suspect Howard Dean will have a hissy fit over that. It may not last.
I love it so!
223. John A. Davison - October 7, 2009
I am convinced that we should withdraw all conventional forces from Afghanistan We should never have engaged the Caliban there. It is not only the terrain. The country has no civilized history, unlike Iraq and Iran too which were the cradle of civilization. Obama’s ego made him proclaim that he would “get” bin Laden. Osama bin Laden is completely neutralized somewhere in Pakistan and if he should be killed it will make no difference in the geopolitical nightmare that dominates that part of the world. We should never have spilled a drop of American blood in that useless piece of real estate. Its government is corrupt, its economy is entirely drug dominated and its people are illiterate, hardly the ingredients for nation building. By way of contrast, George Bush’s single handed achievement of establishing a democracy tn the heart of Islam will ensure him a place in history as one of our greatest Presidents.
It is my hope that Obama will order the immediate withdrawal of all conventional forces from Afghanistan, leaving the destruction of the Caliban to special forces and offering as much indirect help as is feasible to Pakistan. Didn’t we learn anything from the Russian experience there? Apparently not. To fight a conventional war in Afghanistan, like our attempt to do the same in Asian jungles, is insane and will only further bleed our already vanishing resources, not to mention the loss of the cream of our youth. We can’t continue to be the policemen of the earth: It will destroy us.
Knowing Obama, however, I suspect he will adopt some middle course neither satisfying our military leaders nor those who might agree with me. He is incompetent and dangerous, a bad combination.
I agree with this proposal. It has become indelibly clear that Obama hates this nation as he hates all democracies. He always has as his past and present associations both prove beyond any reasonable doubt. I hope this can go forward, but doubt it will succeed. We have abandoned any semblance of what the founding fathers established as the core of this once great nation. Like all the great civilizations of the past, we too are doomed as we decay just as they all did.
“Everything is determined… by forces over which we have no control.”
Albert Einstein
225. John A. Davison - October 9, 2009
If Obama had an ounce of real humility he would turn down the Nobel Prize. He as much as admitted that he didn’t deserve it. It will be used against him in the long run. His determination to destroy this nation is only surpassed by his insufferable ego. It is fitting that at the same time he wins the Nobel Peace Prize he is being nominated for impeachment!
Holdren openly promotes what Obama’s purposes have been all along which is the demise of the American Republic. Obama’ shadow cabinet is crawling with Marxist revolutionaries and sociopathic perverts not one of whom has any more respect for the rule of law and the Constitution than does Obama himself. Holdren is just one of several.
There is a new entry in Uncommon Descent I commented. I am not sure if psychology established by Freud can be dismissed per se. The power of our unconsciosness can’t be probabaly rejected as nonsense. Carl Gustav Jung split apart with Freud. Yet Jung’s more profound – and spiritual – concept of human life is also based of unconsciousness. Jung was a man of religion as well as a Christian Fyodor Dostoevsky – who is sometimes considered to be an atheist by some “critics”. But not without a reason communists banned his work to be mentioned in schools around 1950) .
Of course marxism and darwinism is another issue.
229. vmartin1 - October 16, 2009
And in my last post today a little philosophy – that John seems doesn’t like. Anyway profound Russians – like Dostoevsky – thinkers posited as a problem – is there a deep connection between truth and a beauty? At least let me say that Evolutionary Manifesto is no doubt beautiful work.
Here is a revealing example of Obama’s tactic to control every aspect of his Presidency. Anita Dunn is just one more arrogant radical revolutionary among the many with whom Obama continues to associate now as in the past.
231. John A. Davison - October 21, 2009
The most idiotic comment of the day came from Bill O’Reilly of Fox News-
“I don’t believe Obama is a Marxist.”
Obama surrounds himself with rabid Communist revolutionaries and always has but he is not a Communist himself? Come on O’Reilly, wake up!
Also, Obama is making a colossal mistake by attacking Fox News. It reveals a desperate position as it enhances Fox News. I don’t recall any President denigrating a news medium to this extent. He is destroying his credibility which is a good thing as far as I am concerned. He is behaving like a spoiled brat who is not getting his way. I hope he continues in that vein. The midterm elections will record the response of the people to this arrogant tyrant.
It is hard to believe isn’t it?
Not at all. It is a matter of record.
232. John A. Davison - October 22, 2009
I still feel it is an error to spill any American blood in Afghanistan. If we drive the Taliban out of Afghanistan and Pakistan they will simply go somewhere else and pop up there. Where there is Islam there will be enemies of Democracy. For that reason I have little confidence that Iraq will survive as a Democracy. I believe it will collapse the moment we leave for good. Islam loathes both Christians and Jews and always has for centuries. Democracy is anathema to Islam. Islam is not a religion so much as it is a war manual on the virtues of killing infidels. There is only one way to establish a Democacy and that is from within. It became clear that Obama had no interest in helping those who challenged the elections in Iran. He too hates Democracy and always has.
I am delighted that WNB came around to my earlier description of Obama’s inner circle as a “shadow government.” That is exactly what it is. I still believe Obama will manufacture and provoke a huge crisis so he can declare martial law. He now has no other choice, so be prepared for just that.
I hate being right.
In case anyone still wonders about PeeZee Myers’ political position, just read his last comment introducing this thread. There is no question that there is a strong correlation between political ultra-liberalism (Marxism) and atheist Darwinism. They are likely pleiotropic expressions of the same congenital predisposition. Dawkins suffers from the same hereditary defect.
Andrew Brown never even let my last messages appear. He is obviously just another Darwimp and probably a big Dawkins/Myers fan – most likely a Marxist himself. It isn’t surprising when one reaizes that Merry Old England spawned not only Charles Robert Darwin but six more generations of muddle headed, self-deluded mystics the most recent being Richard “blind watchmaking, selfish mountaineering” Dawkins, living proof that there is no such thing as Free Will. No rational human being would choose to destroy himself with such zeal.
The rise in unemployment plays right into Obama’s strategy to destroy the U.S. economy, thereby making it possible to establish his Socialist empire. Everything he does has that goal in mind. The scary part is his success.
